Senior Member of Technical Staff - Software

Olympus CTA, Inc.’s Software Group is looking for highly motivated professional with at least 6 years of software development experience.  The Software Group architects, designs, and implements network protocols and the required software for embedded communication devices.  The breadth of this group requires a senior technical person with an all around exposure to real-time embedded systems for designing and implementing several kinds of network protocols, device drivers, and the control software.  The job provides an opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest in the industry and create software that is the key enabler in the next generation of communication devices.

 

Primary Responsibilities

1.   Architect and implement Data Link layer, device drivers for embedded systems by adhering to the established software development processes.

2.   Participate in all phases, design, development, and release, of the product-engineering life cycle.

3.   Take initiative for key roles and responsibilities.

4.   Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Experience

1.   Hands-on 4-6 years experience implementing Data Link layer for IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n.  Working knowledge of internet standards and protocols, scheduling algorithms, and routing algorithms.

2.   Real-time embedded system architecture definition with extensive experience on developing device drivers.

3.   At least 6 years of experience with structured C/C++ and assembly programming.

4.   Demonstrated understanding of coding state machines and Operating System internals.

5.   Demonstrated mentoring skills.

6.   Excellent oral/written communications skills.

7.   Ability to research and make recommendations on the direction of advanced technologies.

8.   Good team player

 

Optional skills/experience

1.   Knowledge of wireless QoS.

2.   Experience on Bluetooth/WiMax.

3.   Experience with Hardware Design Language (HDL - Verilog or VHDL).

 

 

Education/Experience

MSEE or MSCS (or equivalent) and a minimum of 6 years of professional software development with concentration in embedded systems, network protocols, and RTOS development.
